About Aarays

Aarays are a closed species created and owned by Xylophil.

If you wish to own an Aaray, you can buy them from adoptables and custom designs created by Xylophil.

-

Aarays marine animals, and amphibian-like. They mostly stay in deep waters (if they're bigger), but there's breeds of them who are much smaller, and can be found in rivers and lakes. They like habiting coves, swamps and areas with high humdity, where they then walk around on. They're omnivorous, but prefer to eat meat, like fish and smaller mammals.

Aarays behave a lot like dolphins and orcas, as they form groups of families, up to 15 members, and all have strong connections to each member of the group. Each group has their own unique laguage, but it's not impossible for them to join another group when necessary. The languages mostly consist of whale-like noises, clicking, chirping and growling.
They are peaceful when they're not hunting, but rather shy when it comes to communicating with another species.

Aarays can be either male or female by sex. Females tend to be a bit more plump, as they eat more in order to tend to their young. Males tend to be slimmer for quicker hunting methods. That said, females tend to be better fighters when it comes to defending their families. Aarays can have up to 5 cubs per female, but the number tends to stay around 2-3 when the group has a larger population.

As for appearance, they're mostly long and slim, and they can come in various color combinations, and some may posess a second tail or antler-like features on their head. It mostly depends on their habitat, but there are rare occasions with more vibrant colors and/or multiple features. River- and lake Aarays are much smaller than sea and ocean ones, and they tend to be more colorful too to match their surroundings.

Q: "How can I join?"
A: Everyone is allowed to join. The group automatically accepts all members.

Q: "Can I make my own Aaray?"
A: No. Aarays are a closed species, and only the species owner is allowed to create Aarays.

Q: "How can I get an Aaray?"
A: Currently, they are only obtainable through adoptables and custom designs. Contaxt Xylophil (creator and owner) if you wish a custom design. There will also be auctions and design contests in the future.

Q: "How much does an Aaray cost?"
A: It depends on which breed of Aaray you are looking for. Common Aarays (sea and ocean) are cheaper than uncommon (river/lake, tropical) ones, and rare ones (deep sea, space). The
The prices currently range from $10 to $50.

Q: "What can I do with my Aaray?"
A: You are allowed to do almost everything with it, once you've bought it. They can be drawn, used in roleplay, etc. There isn't a strict lore to Aarays, and the creator has yet to make more rules and details.

Q: "Can I sell/trade/gift my Aaray?"
A: Aarays can be sold and traded for other designs by the owner of the Aaray, but only after getting explicit permission from the creator. You are not allowed to sell the Aaray for a higher price than what you bought it for. If you wish to gift your Aaray, contact the creator, so that they know who the Aaray belongs to.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask!
